In the small-victories department, Thursday’s win moved Texas one-half game ahead of the Angels in the American League West and the Rangers clinched their third season series win over Los Angeles in the last four years.Beasley noted that Texas’ next opponent, Cleveland, leads the American League Central, and that the Rangers also have remaining series against Seattle and the Yankees, teams that are jostling for postseason seeds.
“We can affect the dynamics of that,” he said. “We’re going to play with integrity and play the season out to the best of our ability.” Beasley said the Rangers not only owe that to themselves, but to teams that are competing against Cleveland, Seattle and the Yankees for playoff seeds.
