Rangers suffered deja vu as they drew 2-2 at home to PSV to set up an all-or-nothing test in Eindhoven next week. The winner will take the Champions League group stage spot and the riches that comes with it.
A top notch Rangers performance was let down by lapses of concentration in the defensive third as PSV nabbed a 2-2 draw at Ibrox on Tuesday evening.
READ MORE: Rangers 2 PSV 2 as Sima and Matondo arrive at Ibrox, huge away night to come - 3 things we learnedThe Dutch side went for broke, and pushing forward they had a few chances. But their braveness let them down when Rangers countered; and with Dessers finding space down the right, his drilled, Kevin de Bruyne-esque ball behind the defence found Matondo, who guided the ball first time around Benitez to restore the lead in emphatic style.
James Tavernier - 6 Not his greatest night in a blue shirt. Booked stupidly just after the half hour for pulling back Lang after the winger had long gone down the left-flank. Didn't have that attacking influence. Borna Barisic - 6 Back in after a weekend rest. Loves to fire up and down that left side with a wicked delivery but didn't really get the chance to do so after a frenetic start. Poor for the equaliser. Booked.
Jose Cifuentes - 6 Energetic - perhaps slightly overwhelmed by the situation, but did well as he aims to nail down a starting spot under Beale, who evidently likes the Ecuadorian's tenacity and speed in midfield. But then he bent an absolute howitzer into the top corner on the stroke of half time to send Ibrox wild. From zero to hero in the space of seconds, it was a strike that Arjen Robben would've been proud of.
