Two-year deal for LB Clay Matthews with the
worth a max of $16.75 million, source says. He had more lucrative offers on the table but he just welcomed his third child and really wanted to play close to home. Plus, a shot at another ring doesn’t hurt.Last season, Matthews played in all 16 games recording 3.5 sacks, and 29 tackles. In 143 career games, the Los Angeles native has 83.5 sacks.
The 32-year-old was selected 26th overall in the 2009 draft by Green Bay and lead them to a Super Bowl win in 2011. Matthews is a six-time Pro Bowler and was the Pro Football Writers of America’s 2010 Defensive Player of the Year.
