Wednesday's memorandum signing comes after the Electricity Minister signed a Framework Agreement on Cooperation in Green Energy with China on Tuesday.
JOHANNESBURG - Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa signed a Joint Memorandum of Cooperation with China on Wednesday in hopes of boosting the country’s generation capacity in the future.
Speaking at the summit on Wednesday, Ramokgopa said this came about in line with his mission of ending load shedding in the country.Ramokgopa said where generation is concerned, the country is facing a challenge with the underperformance of coal fleets, with emission levels in some power stations exceeding licence parameters.
