The president has spoken out against the abuse of women and girls in SA.
President Cryil Ramaphosa on Thursday urged South Africans to support women and girls who wanted to obtain temporary restraining orders against their abusers, reiterating that women abuse had no place in the country.
He was speaking at the official opening of Booysens Magistrate’s Court and the signing of the Gender-Based Violence and Femicide Declaration in Johannesburg on Thursday. Ramaphosa said that the summit opened the eyes and ears, and even the hearts, of many people to the gravity and impact of GBV in the country.
