An investigations centre has been set up to probe all alleged corruption related to COVID-19 funds.

Ramaphosa said different arms of the state such as the Financial Intelligence Centre, Hawks, SIU and NPA will work together on the investigations.

The president said investigations into the distribution of food parcels, social relief grants, the procurement of personal protective equipment and other medical supplies, and the UIF special COVID-19 scheme have already begun.We are determined that every instance of alleged corruption must be thoroughly investigated, that those responsible for wrongdoing should be prosecuted and that all monies stolen or overpriced are recovered.
