Ramaphosa 'desperately treading water', must come clean on Russia arms claims - DA
JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance has called on President Cyril Ramaphosa to come clean on the alleged arms deal between South Africa and Russia. An investigation into the matter is now underway. But DA Member of Parliament Emma Powell accuses Ramaphosa and Defence Minister Thandi Modise of using the investigation to buy time to cover their tracks.
"It is clear that both President Ramaphosa and Minister Modise know exactly what transpired in December and are now desperately treading water. By announcing that a Judge will be called out of retirement to conduct an investigation, the African National Congress is simply kicking for touch in what appears to be a desperate scramble to manage this fast-unfolding diplomatic crisis."
