This new powertrain brings the brand’s 3.6-liter eTorque Pentastar into the modern age by replacing the alternator with an innovative eTorque mild-hybrid system. This system features a 430 watt-hour lithium-ion nickel manganese cobalt graphite battery pack that provides a 48-volt current. The powertrain can also use a 3 kW DC-to-DC converter to operate a 12-volt starter motor that is particularly beneficial for cold starts in extreme temperatures..
