. kblock43, famed professional rally driver and the driving force behind the TheHoonigans brand, has passed away at the age of 55 in a snowmobile accident.
Block was a transcendent action sports star who competed in skateboarding, snowboarding, and motocross events during his storied career. He was also famous for hisHoonigan posted the following statement to the brand Instagram account:"It's with our deepest regrets that we can confirm that Ken Block passed away in a snowmobile accident today. Ken was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband. He will be incredibly missed.
TMZ reported Block had posted images of him snowmobiling in Utah to his personal Instagram page earlier on Monday. The Wasatch County Sheriff's Office posted to social media that Block was"riding a snowmobile on a steep slope when the snowmobile upended, landing on top of him. He was pronounced deceased at the scene." The Sheriff's Office also shared that Block was alone at the time, but had been riding with a group.
, remarking that"no one can get America more excited about non-NASCAR motorsports than Ken Block," and the same can still be said almost a decade later.
