The crosswalk had just been repainted after it was defaced with hateful words and images made with white paint in early July.

Central Saanich police are looking for witnesses after someone attempted to deface a rainbow crosswalk that was also vandalized last month.

The crosswalk needed to be repainted after the vandalism because power washing it lifted the paint, making parts appear faded, Windsor said.
