The Dis-Chem CEO, Rui Morais recently penned a letter to the Springboks, pledging a whopping R12 million following the team’s 2023 Rugby World Cup victory which took place in Paris, France on 28 October, theThe South African national rugby team made history as the fourth-time winners of the Rugby World Cup tournaments after beating New Zealand 11-12 recently. The Springboks’ achievement also had them to hogging their title as the Rugby World Cup champions following winning the Cup in 2019.
According to the publication, Dis-Chem has recently pledged R1 million for each point the Springboks won in their 2023 Rugby World Cup final. The R12 million will reportedly go towards tackling challenges which will be identified with input from the Dis-Chem staff and address relevant concerns in the Mzansi.“As a South African company, Dis-Chem is determined to also be a national hero who makes our country proud.
“The R30 million contribution is to help SA Rugby ensure that the next generation of players of this calibre can be discovered, from every corner of the country, to ensure the next Siya is nurtured and developed through the rugby ranks,” Molapisi said.WATCH: Parts of SA to experience HAIL storms
