For those eager to see him return to the director's chair, Quentin Tarantino has shared a disappointing update on his final film. 'I haven't even thought about it yet.'

Quentin Tarantino shares a disappointing update regarding his tenth and final movie. After writing and directing nine films, Tarantino surprisingly revealed plans to end his feature directorial career after his tenth movie, citing a desire to go out on a high note with a body of work he can be proud of. For his final feature, Tarantino has teased ideas ranging from Kill Bill 3 to a Western, horror, or comedy film.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY During a recent appearance on YMH Studios' 2 Bears, 1 Cave podcast with Tom Segura, Tarantino provided a disappointing update regarding his final film. The illustrious auteur says he hasn't started writing his tenth movie, nor has he even thought about what it will be. When asked if his final film is written yet, Tarantino responded, "No, I haven't even thought about it yet.

Tarantino recently said his final film will be a wholly original work, which seemingly rules out Kill Bill 3 and several franchise possibilities like an R-rated Star Trek film, James Bond, or Marvel's Luke Cage. This was largely expected considering that all but one of Tarantino's films, Jackie Brown, are original scripts. While Tarantino's tenth film will continue this tradition, it doesn't appear he has given any more thought to what it might be about.

While the director's recent update may be disappointing for some fans, Tarantino taking his time should only end up benefiting the final product in the end. Perfection can't be rushed under normal circumstances, especially when it comes to Tarantino capping off his illustrious filmography with one last magnum opus. In the meantime, fans can enjoy the filmmaker's various works, including his new book Cinema Speculation.
