Queens of the Stone Age has canceled tour dates in July while frontman Josh Homme ungergoes emergency surgery, the band said on Tuesday, July 9.
The rock band was scheduled to play several shows in Europe this month, but Homme “must return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery,” the band said in a Facebook post. “Every effort was made to push through and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue,” the band said. Queens of the Stone Age canceled eight shows from July 10 to 27, including festival appearances in France, Slovakia and Romania, and headline shows in Germany, Austria and Greece.
” Additional details about Homme’s surgery or condition were not released. Homme, 51, previously revealed he had been diagnosed with cancer in 2022, and that surgery to remove it had been successful, he told Revolver in June 2023. In November 2023, he gave an update on his health to ITV News. “I’m good. I’m all clear,” Homme said, adding that he’s feeling “the best I’ve felt all year.
