Two generations of royals now lie in the memorial chapel built for the Queen's father - with a new stone slab bearing the names of two monarchs and their spouses
late husband’sBuckingham Palace said the inscription on the ledger stone in the George VI Memorial Chapel, will bear the names of George VI, the Queen Mother, Elizabeth II, and Prince Philip, along with their years of birth and death.
The coffin of Prince Philip, previously interred in the Royal Vault elsewhere in St George’s Chapel, was moved to the chapel on Monday to rejoin his wife, who was laid to rest in a private service attended by the King and the royal family.
