The efforts for women to get into more careers in the trades' industry continues.

There is a push to get more women working in the construction trades.

Now Nichols is addressing a new class at the TERO Vocational Training Center on the Tulalip Indian Reservation. In the room, two close friends, Ora Yallup and Carissa Robinson, who signed up together. “This is just something that has been available for us and it’s beneficial,” said Robinson, a Tulalip Tribal member. “The construction field has great pay. And there’s a lot to choose from.”“It wasn’t something that women got into,” said Lisa Marx. “And they didn’t have it in school so much for my era.”Now, more than a decade later, she’s an instructor for this 16-week pre-apprentice program open to tribal members.
