Speculation suggesting Sir Jim Ratcliffe could appoint a new manager has been increasing should the Ineos chief be successful with his quest to secure a 25 per cent stake in Man United,

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag watched his side record a priceless 1-0 win over FC Copenhagen in the Champions League at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, boosting their hopes of progressing to the last-16 of the competition.

United returned to the Champions League this season after securing a top four finish in the Premier League last term. That was viewed as a huge success for Ten Hag but despite the gradual progress made under his stewardship, there have been reports suggesting a change could be in the offing if Sir Jim Ratcliffe secures a 25 per cent stake in the club.

Paul Scholes "I think it's hard to say - I think he's been a very good coach so far, I like him," Scholes told TNT Sports ahead of the win over Copenhagen. "He's been ruthless in a job that is incredibly difficult, he's essentially been thrown out to the lions in the sense of answering every single question thrown at him by the media and I think he's handled it really well.

Gary Neville Following United's 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at the end of last month, Neville took to social media to draw comparisons between the Reds' slow start and Chelsea's. He made a point of pinning the blame on both clubs' owners.
