The Naperville Park District is in talks with the Forest Preserve District of Will County over maintenance of a multiuse path that will connect a huge subdivision being built in south Naperville to a county trail.

The 110-acre Polo Club subdivision, located on the former polo grounds near 119th Street and Route 59, was annexed into the city of Naperville in March. When completely built out, it will have 252 single-family homes and 149 town houses.Developer Pulte Homes has already donated to the park district a neighborhood park to be called Polo Club Park, a park with turf fields named Fairlane Farms Park and a multiuse path that will connect to a trail that’s been donated to the forest preserve district.

Park district staff have reached out to the forest preserve about maintaining the small part of the trail in the Fairlane Farms Park area, Shutes said. They are formulating an agreement under which the forest preserve district will have access its property and do maintenance work in exchange for reimbursement from the park district.
