A memorandum of grievances was handed to an official from the Department of Health in KZN.PSA provincial manager Mlungisi Ndlovu says they have no intention to disrupt healthcare but need to resolve the issues."If they are victimising our staff, some of our shop stewards are being given leave without pay. As a result, we have taken action. If they don't do something, people will refuse to apply for positions.

"Most of the staff have not done medical surveillance, and do you know the risk of allowing an employee to work without knowing their medical history? We have given them 10 days to process all these outstanding matters and to ensure that all the grievances are resolved.""There is fear among staff, especially those who are not from the area where communities have demanded that those who are not from KwaMashu should be able to leave the institution.
