A man has been charged in connection with the attempted murder of two police officers in Strabane last month

Detectives from the Terrorism Investigation Unit investigating the alleged attack on Thursday, November 17, charged the 28-year-old on Tuesday night. A statement from the PSNI added: "The man faces two counts of attempted murder, causing an explosion likely to endanger life or cause serious injury to property and possessing explosives with intent to endanger life or cause serious injury to property."The man is due to appear at Dungannon Magistrates Court on Wednesday December 14. As is usual procedure all charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
The man was the eighth person to be arrested as part of the investigation into the incident, in which police believe an improvised explosive device was allegedly thrown at a police car in the Co Tyrone town. The man, who was arrested in Strabane on Tuesday, was taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning after a property was searched and a number of items seized.For all the latest news, visit the Belfast Live homepage here.
