It’s been months since Mamelodi Sundowns striker Gastón Sirino was found guilty for assault, but the PSL disciplinary committee on Monday announced that the Uruguayan had been handed a two-match suspension, while he and the club were also slapped with a monetary fine.
The verdict arrived seven months after Sirino was found guilty of assaulting SuperSport United players Clayton Daniels and Dean Furman during their team’s MTN8 fixture on September 18 2019. Sundowns were found guilty of bringing the league into disrepute in a case that dragged on amid several postponements.
Mamelodi Sundowns was ordered to pay a fine of R200 000, and Sirino was slapped with a two-match suspension and a fine of R75 000.Here is the full ruling:
