This decision stems from Royal AM's inability to provide the PSL with assurances regarding their commitment to fulfilling upcoming fixtures under their current curatorship.
As a result, all of Royal AM's forthcoming matches, spanning both the Betway Premiership and the Nedbank Cup, have been suspended until further notice.The PSL's statement explained that Royal AM initially notified the league on January 9, 2025, about their inability to honor their match against Chippa United on January 11, 2025, citing difficulties arising from the appointment of a curator. The league's Executive Committee convened three separate meetings to ascertain whether the club, operating under curatorship, could reliably meet its fixture obligations. Despite assurances on January 17, 2025, that a joint letter of comfort from club management and the curator would be forthcoming, confirming the resolution of the issues, this letter failed to materialize. This non-compliance left the PSL with no option but to cancel the fixture against Orlando Pirates and suspend all other Royal AM matches.Orlando Pirates will not receive the automatic three points that would have been awarded had Royal AM failed to honor the match. The PSL's decision to postpone the fixture indefinitely underscores the seriousness of the situation and the league's commitment to ensuring the integrity of the competition.
