PSG On The Brink Of Ligue 1 Title After Lorient Thrashing
Paris Saint-Germain got back to winning ways and extended their lead at the top of Ligue 1 after thrashing Lorient 4-1 on Wednesday evening.PSG made nine changes to the side that thrashed Olympique Lyonnais, as only goalkeeper Guinluigi Donnarumma and Gonçalo Ramos, who was joined by Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele, remained.
Lorient did not have time to regroup, as two minutes later Kylian Mbappe made it 2-0 for Luis Enrique's charges with a flicked shot in the box after connecting with Nuno Mendes. PSG were on the front foot coming from the break and Dembele made it 3-0 and completed his brace on the hour-mark with a tap-in at the back post from a cross by Kylian Mbappe.
As the pace of the game slowed down, Lorient gave themselves hope on 73 minutes after Mohamed Bamba pulled a goal back with a strong header from a cross by Benjamin Mendy.
