‘Currently Sita on the table has offered 5%. The PSA has lowered the demand from 12% right down to 7.5%. We've taken Sita’s position back to our members and unfortunately, they've rejected it totally,’ says Claude Naiker, spokesperson for the Public Servants Association.

JIMMY MOYAHA: Yesterday, the Public Servants Association announced that they’d be embarking on a strike following a deadlocked salary negotiation. Particularly with regard to the State Information Technology Agency .

Unfortunately, this has come to a situation where industrial action was the last resort for the PSA. JIMMY MOYAHA: Before I let you go, Claude, you touched on something around the service delivery aspects that may be affected as well. Are we saying that this strike could potentially have a negative impact on the ability of Sassa to pay its grants?
