Two Ontario nursing homes have been slapped with penalties for failing to provide air conditioning in resident rooms.

The two homes have been ordered to each pay a $1,100 administrative penalty and have until Sept. 16 to come into compliance. Currently, 554 nursing homes are resident rooms with full AC and 24 more should be in compliance by Sept. 22, the government source says.
