Province Considering Old Grace Hospital Site for St. Clare’s Replacement

Last fall the provincial government announced its intention to replace St. Clare’s which is a century old. $7.8 million dollars was earmarked infor a new cardiovascular institute, and St. Clare’s which includes the cost of demolishing the eyesore that is the old Grace nursing residence.

Government says a contract will soon be awarded to develop a master plan for the new hospital and the new heart institute at the Health Sciences. According to government, the contract will identify required services at each of the new facilities, and the amount of space needed. The consultant’s report is expect late this year.
