The Proteas are closely monitoring the fitness of Kagiso Rabada after he returned home from the IPL with an injury.
There is little doubt that fast bowling superstar Kagiso Rabada will be central to the team’s ambitions, and there will now be a nervous wait after it was confirmed that he had picked up an injury niggle in the IPL.
In a statement, CSA confirmed that Rabadad had “returned home from the Indian Premier League due to a lower limb soft tissue infection”. “The 28-year-old consulted a specialist on arrival in South Africa and is being closely monitored by the Cricket South Africa medical team,” a statement added. The good news is that his involvement at the tournament is not not expected to be affected, but it is an injury scare that would have sent some cold shivers down the spine of the medical team.
