Dawud Sami, who produced music and rapped under the name “Officially GP,” pleaded guilty to the fourth-degree felony on the day he was set to go to trial on six charges, including two human trafficking charges.

Dawud "Officially GP" Sami, 43, pleaded guilty to promoting prostitution, a fourth-degree felony. Sami was initially charged with two counts of human trafficking that accused him of running a prostitution ring out of his business, Red Karpet Entertainment, on East 185th Street in Cleveland.

Sami, 43, now faces a maximum sentence of 18 months in prison. He is also eligible to be placed on probation. Sami, his attorneys and Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley’s office declined to comment on the case before the sentencing. Investigators said that Sami made the women who worked for him get tattoos with the business’ name, which Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost’s office called a “brand.”
