See heavyweight champion (and local hero!) Magnum McLaren in action
Since you can’t celebrate Canada Day with fireworks, why not get your fireworks another way — with live pro wrestling.
Carrefour Sen. Rheal Belisle Cultural Centre, 2777 Main St., in Blezard Valley is the place to be on July 1 when Project X Wrestling hits the squared circle for an evening of pro rasslin’ action. Canadian heavyweight champion and Sudbury’s own Magnum McLaren and all your favourite stars from Project X Wrestling in action with a full wrestling card. Admission is free as part of the Canada Day activities although a pay-what-you-can donation to the Carrefour is appreciated.
You can spend a good part of your afternoon at the Carrefour, as well, with family friendly activities starting at 2 p.m. There will be carnival games and treats, inflatables, cards, yard games and a barbecue organized in partnership with the Valley East Community Action Network.
