If made into law, the $1.75 trillion package would impact health care, America's climate response, and more ⤵️
Progressive groups celebrated the work of the Democrat’s Progressive Caucus while warning of the work to come in the Senate. “The Build Back Better Act as passed by the House doesn’t include everything we’d like, but it remains a historic bill that will make our communities healthier, safer, and more prosperous,” Working Families Party national director Maurice Mitchell said in a statement.
“It’s very clear that the Build Back Better Act would never have gotten this far without the courage and commitment of House progressives,” Mitchell continued, citing the Squad and Rep. Pramila Jayapal, “who stood strong against bad-faith attempts by corporate Democrats to derail the legislation.” “Now it’s up to the Senate to determine whether Democrats will deliver for the American people,” said Mitchell. “President Biden and Majority Leader Schumer must bring conservative senators Manchin and Sinema on board with this legislation.”
