Our WorkPlace, run by Our Place Society, offered pre-employment and personal-development training, work experience and follow-up
An employment program provided by Our Place to help its clients break the cycle of poverty by finding employment has closed due to lack of funding.
It offered a chance for people facing challenges such as homelessness or a criminal record to obtain the skills to return to the workforce. The program relied on donor and grant funding in the five years that it ran. Most recently it received funding from the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction, but the one-year term expired at the beginning of this year.
