The presidency has conceded that there have been “slight administrative and logistical” delays in the finalisation of the SABC board, but says the process is almost complete.
Magwenya said “there is a great deal of urgency to ensure we sustain the stability achieved around the broadcaster”. In December, it was reported that parliament had finally approved the names of 12 candidates to be appointed to the new board. The names where unanimously supported by all the parties in the National Assembly.
