Problems force MV Confederation out of service again

Bruce Cockburn: 50 years of music, spirituality and social justice | SaltWireCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A problem with the power control system in a main engine shut down the MV Confederation on Oct. 16.

“This is unrelated to the technical issues that caused shutdown in the summer,’’ Kelly Williams, director of corporate services, said in an email to SaltWire. On June 17, a part had to be ordered from Germany, which took three week. The ferry re-entered service on July 1, but the part in another engine broke the following day and forced the vessel of service again until July 10.
