Thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters have taken to the streets of Britain as Israel steps up its offensive on Gaza.
Thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters have gathered in central London and other UK cities with banners and posters, as Graham Stothard reports
It was not immediately clear whether the person arrested was taking part in the protest or a counter demonstration., largely cutting off the 2.3 million population from contact with each other and the outside world.Officers policing the protest in London arrested another person who was heard to be shouting racist remarks. He was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence and making threats to kill. He remains in custody.
Earlier on Saturday, one woman was knocked over by a police horse that had been startled by fireworks let off at protest in London.The woman was knocked to the floor and trampled on but appeared to be fine when brought back to her feet.Protesters during a pro-Palestine march organised by Palestine Solidarity Campaign in central London.
