The Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex walked side by side behind their grandmother the Queen’s coffin as it was carried to Westminster Abbey for the state funeral service.
Prince William was wearing his military uniform, while Harry was wearing a morning suit, as he was stripped of his military titles in 2020 after he stepped down from his role as a working royal. The estranged brothers have made a number of public appearances together since their grandmother’s death on Thursday 8 September, including on Saturday evening when theyHarry, the Duke of Sussex, was given special permission by the King to wear his military uniform for the vigil, however his grandmother’s “ER” initials were removed from the shoulder of his jacket.
This is the second time Princes William and Harry have walked in procession behind the Queen’s coffin, having also done so when the Queen was brought from Buckingham Palace to the lying-in-state at Westminster Hall on Wednesday last week.
