UK's Prince Harry arrives to attend the Invictus Games Foundation 10th Anniversary Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral, in London, UK, May 8, 2024.LONDON — Prince Harry was ordered on Thursday to carry other wider searches for emails, text messages and other material that might be relevant in his lawsuit against the Rupert Murdoch's UK newspaper arm, amid concern some evidence had been destroyed.
NGN, which is contesting the claims, has paid out hundreds of millions of pounds to victims of phone-hacking by News of the World and settled more than 1,300 lawsuits, but has always rejected allegations of any wrongdoing by staff at The Sun. "I have real concerns that the issue of disclosure related to the 'knowledge issue' has not been dealt with adequately by the claimants' solicitors ," said Judge Timothy Fancourt, adding that so far they had produced only five documents assessed to be relevant.
Harry's lawyer David Sherborne responded by accusing Hudson of using language to "get a headline", and said NGN's legal team were guilty of simply carrying out a fishing expedition.
