Former royal editor accused of 'distancing' herself from story
She says it would have been her job to go through all the papers that had covered the story and then to pull together all the coverage. Asked whether she has any recollection of this, she says she doesn't because it was a"follow-up story" and a"very long time ago" - being in 2000. "I don't know if there are agreements in place [with the palace] or even if Harry was at school at that time," Ms Kerr says. He points out that in the article, it mentions that Harry was teased by his school friends. She says she was writing"hundreds of stories" at the time and doesn't remember. Ms Kerr says she doesn't think this is true, and that running the story would be the editor's decision.
But Mr Sherborne says this line was deleted from the second version of the statement - and claims this is because she wasn't"comfortable" with what she said. She says this was changed because she felt it needed"further explanation" in the draft, but because it had already been sent over once she did not want to go into a"long explanation". Ms Kerr says she didn't know her solicitor had sent over the first version to Harry's team.
