Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have released a rare public statement addressing a rumor that they send a list of rules for their neighbors to follow. According to The Sun, neighbors were given the list of rules during a meeting, which allegedly instructed them to not speak to the couple, pet their dogs, or offer to babysit.“The Duke and Duchess didn't request this, didn't know about it, and had nothing to do with the content or guidance offered,” the spokesperson said.
The paper reported that “an overly protective palace official” listed the rules to neighbors at the meeting. Another resident revealed that the Queen has always been friendly with her neighbors, even chatting and having tea with some of them. “The Queen always chats to neighbors and even has tea with people on the estate as she’s very friendly with them,” they said. “Maybe Harry doesn’t want people approaching them and using their dogs as an excuse to talk. And of course the dog with no name keeps its privacy as they won’t tell us its name!”
