'If you must go out, we are urging drivers to use extra caution on roadways as they are very icy and slippery with the rain.'

Prince George RCMP are advising local drivers to limit their travel today as road conditions remain icy throughout the city and surrounding area.

“Prince George RCMP is asking everyone to limit their travel to essential travel only. If you must go out, we are urging drivers to use extra caution on roadways as they are very icy and slippery with the rain. Give yourself extra room for stopping and turning, and keep an eye out for pedestrians who may have to take extra time crossing the street,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Office for the Prince George RCMP.

North of the city, DriveBC has issued a travel advisory on Highway 97 from Salmon Valley to Powder King, four kilometres south of the Pine Pass Summit. Travel is not recommended unless essential due to rain falling on compact snow.
