With a month left until nominations for this fall’s municipal election close, there remain three candidates for mayor in Prince Edward County.His competition is Dianne O’Brien, who he defeated in 2018, and Kyle Mayne who unsuccessfully ran for a seat on council in 2014.In Ward 1 , the only two candidates so far are Kate MacNaughton and Phil St-Jean who are both looking to be reelected.They’ll be running against Sarah Moffatt who is looking to earn one of the ward’s two seats.
There aret three candidates so far in Ward 3 where Heather Norlock, Corey Engelsdorfer and Jennifer Cobb are each hoping to earn that ward’s only seat on council.Over in Ward 5 , there are three candidates at this point, Sam Branderhorst, Tom Harrison and Elis Ziegler.No one has filed papers to run in Ward 7 where there is also one seat.In Ward 9 John Hirsch, the incumbent, is running to retain his ward’s only seat.
