“We will finally be able to produce a live-action version of the legendary comic, which has been said to be impossible to make into a live-action film over 30 years,” said Osawa. “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Kaiji Kawaguchi and all the people involved. I will play the main role, Shiro Kaieda, who escapes with Japan’s first nuclear submarine and confronts the world with the threat of nuclear weapons. Prime Video today also announced that it has acquired the rights to live stream all of the Japanese national team’s games during the 2023 World Baseball Classic , beginning with the first round on March 9. Additionally, the teams two training games prior to the 2023 WBC against the Chunichi Dragons and the Orix Buffaloes will be exclusively live streamed on Prime Video.
