A primary school had to go into an emergency lockdown at home time after a man was attacked by two dogs.

Children as young as four were getting ready to leave a primary school in Stonall, Staffordshire. However, following reports of the attack, police had to prevent some form exiting school to ensure their safety. A man was taken to hospital, where he is reportedly recovering from his injuries. It comes after an 11-year-old girl was attacked by a dog in nearby Birmingham earlier on in the week. A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing dangerous and out-of-control dogs, the Mirror reports.A spokesperson for Staffordshire Constabulary said: "A number of people helped to try and get the dogs off the man and contained one of the dogs outside.

"We prevented a number of school children leaving local primary school, St Peter’s Primary Academy, for safety reasons. The children have since been allowed to go home."A 30-year-old man, from the Lichfield area, has been arrested on suspicion of having dogs dangerously out of control. An investigation is ongoing including the determination of the dogs’ breed." Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 405 of September 14.
