On Thursday, President Cyril Ramaphosa welcomed his Zimbabwean counterpart at the Beitbridge border post in Musina – the shared South Africa and Zimbabwe border – for the BMA launch. This entity, located in the home affairs department, will regulate all entry points into South Africa. Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi said the BMA would be the country's third national armed enforcement unit after the army and the police, and its officers, the minister asserted, had undergone"a rigorous selection process that included interviews [and] physical assessments".
