Western Cape Premier Alan Winde has tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday morning, has mildflu-like symptoms, and is in self-isolation at home.
Cape Town - Western Cape Premier Alan Winde has tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday morning.
"I received a positive test result for Covid-19 this morning, and I am in self-isolation at home for 14 days. This is not the first time the premier has entered into self-isolation, as he previously isolated following his interview with Cape Town-based, eNCA cameraman Lungile Tom, 45, who died in hospital after testing positive for Covid-19. The premier said that given he is in the risk category, he will be monitoring his health to make sure that any change is picked up quickly.
"Based on medical advice, I am also contacting my previous contacts from three days prior to my first symptoms. This is an important responsibility that we must all undertake when we test positive. ‘Close contacts’ must self-quarantine. This means that you must stay at home and not come into contact with other people," Winde said.
