Outage knocks out power to east Vancouver, Burnaby
A power outage caused by a substation fault hit east Vancouver and parts of Burnaby on Monday afternoon, affecting about 10,000 customers.Among those affected were tenants at the Broadway Tech Centre in east Vancouver and the B.C. Institute of Technology campus in Burnaby.
Traffic along Renfrew was also affected for some time due to nonfunctioning traffic lights, forcing drivers to use the four-way stopping procedure.
