Planned and unplanned power outages are affecting residents of Pretoria East and Cullinan. Eskom is conducting maintenance in Cullinan, while an explosion at the Njala Infeed Substation in Pretoria East caused widespread disruption.
Eskom has announced a planned power outage in the Cullinan area on. The utility will conduct essential maintenance on its distribution power lines during this time. The outage will affect Aust Verviers, Casa Mia Country Estate, Doxa Deo Edendale Pre-Primary School, Eland Plots, Gem Valley, Kilifi Creek, Nooitgedacht Plots, and The Hills.
The company also appreciated customers’ cooperation, stating, “We apologise for any inconvenience this maintenance may cause.”on Tuesday night caused widespread power outages across parts of Pretoria East. “We are aware of the outage affecting multiple substations and areas in the city. Technicians have been dispatched to investigate,” the city stated.
“Our emergency services teams have extinguished the fire at Njala Substation, leaving large parts of Pretoria East without power. We will provide further information on ERT once assessments are completed,” Moya stated.
