The meeting was scheduled for Monday but President Cyril Ramaphosa is engaging with social partners.
The group was set to meet to discuss economic growth and unemployment.
"To be fair with the president, he has had the worst task of any president since 1994, he is having to save lives in the face of a terrible pandemic, he is also having to save jobs in the face of a worse economic crisis. So it's an unenviable task," said Matthew Parks, Cosatu's Parliamentary Coordinator.
"We also need to move fast with speed, we simply cannot afford to be over-consulting and taking too long with many issues. We as Cosatu are available 24/7, we need to get things moving. We have to get government, business and labour on the same page."
