Blockbuster in Canada, bust in U.S., the head of a big Canadian bank vents on pipeline delays and Norway begins to bail on fossil fuels

Jobs Day was full of surprises this morning. While Canada’s gains blew past expectations, the best start to the year since 1981, job growth in the U.S. almost stalled, dragging down the Dow on open.The unassuming oilseed canola was thrust onto the global political stage this week, when China revoked the export authorization of Canada’s top producer. China says shipments were faulty, but Ottawa says canola is just the latest victim in rising tensions between China and Canada.
