Hybrid work has made employees wealthier over the past two years. According to a recent study, Canadian employees saw their incomes increase by 14.3 per cent last year.found that over three quarters of Canadian workers saved money in 2021. The average employee saved roughly $214 per week, or about $11,000 a year.

Almost half of Canadians shared that their financial well-being improved while working remotely. Many said they believe these financial savings could be maintained over the long-term if they continued working from home.Article content More flexible work schedules and reduced commuting time were key drivers for improvement. Many workers saved more than four hours per week, while some saved more than eight hours per week.Article content

“More needs to be done to fully leverage the opportunities of a hybrid work future, particularly in building an inclusive culture, devising employee engagement strategies, and deploying technology infrastructure to bring organizations to the readiness levels of their employees,” Trehan said.
