U.S. Postal Service inspectors are offering a reward of up to $50,000 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of a person who robbed a postal service employee Tuesday.
SALT LAKE CITY — U.S. Postal Service inspectors are offering a reward of up to $50,000 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of a person who robbed a postal service employee Tuesday morning.
The individual, a male, got inside a Postal Service vehicle and started to take mail from it when a letter carrier noticed and walked after the individual. The person dropped the mail and reached inside the pocket of their hooded jacket and motioned as if they had a gun, Robinson said. The individual left the scene with the mail. Robinson said the letter carrier was not physically injured but was shaken up by the ordeal. It's unclear if the individual had a gun; however, that threat is still a federal crime that can result in a sentence of up to 25 years in prison, he said.
