Police are continuing the search for Myles Sanderson after a rampage that left 11 dead, after Regina’s police chief urged residents to be ‘very aware of your surroundings.’

JAMES SMITH CREE NATION, SASK.—The lone suspect left alive and on the run after a stabbing rampage left 11 dead, Myles Sanderson, may have been seen on the James Smith Cree Nation in Saskatchewan and officers are responding, RCMP said Tuesday. After the alert was sent to residents, RCMP cruisers could be seen driving down the gravel road at an entrance to the reserve as news media — who have mostly been asked to stay outside of the community itself — lingered outside.

“Your criminal history is very concerning, including the use of violence and weapons related to your index offences, and your history of domestic violence,” said the Parole Board of Canada document from February, obtained by The Canadian Press. “Having said that, Myles is still at large and still considered to be armed and dangerous. We ask our community to continue to be very aware of your surroundings and report anything that’s unusual.”

While officials would not describe his injuries, they said that they were not believed to be self-inflicted. Myles Sanderson is also believed to be injured and might seek medical care, RCMP said.
